SWIU recognizes all women urologists and their accomplishments in honor of National Women Physicians Day on February 3.
National Women Physicians Day honors the birthday of Elizabeth Blackwell, the U.S.’ primary woman physician, but also the work of the millions of doctors who’ve since followed in her at times arduous footsteps. Launched [in 2016], the now nationally recognized holiday also draws attention to women’s triumphant success rates in the medical field, and to their chronically stunted recognition and compensation therein.
